With the full Mik Cool band by her side, Mik's original tunes hit a bit harder, and her songwriting is naturally transitioning to a more rock/punk sound that meshes with the musical expertise of her bandmates. At a live show one can expect to hear multiple new songs built into the set which confirm that Mik Cool is only getting more exciting and that their first album together as a full band is bound to provide some certified bangers while still leaving you with all the feels. Look for a new single out from the band soon, and keep coming back for more Mik Cool shows when you can't get that new unreleased song out of your head.
What started as the solo project of frontwoman Mikayla Coulombe has since evolved into a seven-piece indie pop/rock band that is currently crashing into the Twin Cities music scene and entertaining people's faces off with their energetic and emotional live sets. In 2021 Mik and her former guitar instructor, Zach Brose, spent the entire year sending files back and forth across the country, as they worked to create Mik's debut album, I Wanna Be Cool, without ever meeting up once in person. Primarily recorded in her tiny Minneapolis closet, I Wanna Be Cool laid down the artistic vision Mik had held in her head for years and drew together a ragtag crew of six other local musicians who were committed to taking Mik Cool to the next level.
