Sup y’all, Mik here.
It's sure been a wild ride since I first launched this website. After releasing my debut album back in April 2022, the dream was always to assemble a full band to play my tunes. I thought that MAYBE within a year I might be able to find some folks to be in a band with me and MAYBE one day in the far off future we might be good enough to play a few shows here and there. But shit, someone must have put in a good word for me to the music gods, because here I am eight months later with a seven-piece band comprised of some extraordinarily talented musicians, just coming off our first set at 7th St Entry.

Before I give the band the full attention they deserve in this bio, let me just give a real quick recap about how this project started. If you don't know me already, my real name is Mikayla Coulombe, but Mik Cool was undoubtedly the better stage name for someone hoping to entertain the faces off of people and exude what I proudly describe as "ironically sexy" energy. In 2021 my former Twin Town guitar instructor, Zach Brose, and I spent the entire year sending files back and forth to each other across the country, as he helped me produce my debut album, I Wanna Be Cool, without ever meeting up once in person. I recorded a majority of the album in my tiny uptown apartment closet, and though I think it built character to do so, it's sure refreshing to be holding band practice these days in the wide open, fresh air of our keys player's basement.
Moving on. I feel incredibly grateful and lucky to have united with this random bunch of weirdos in order to create the full Mik Cool band. Still not sure how we all found each other or what we have in common (besides our love of music and Shrek), but without them, my tunes certainly wouldn't be where they are today, and I'd also just be more sad. With everyone's variety of musical backgrounds (metal, psych-punk, Taylor Swift lovers), we've been able to dive deeper into the rock and punk sounds of my original songs and are excited to continue down that road for our inevitable future album together. Hope to see you at a show, and since I realized that we don't have many full band pics yet, here's a shot of us doing something weird at a pool table. Please enjoy the pictures below from one of our band practices so that you can put a name to the face and get to know the band on a more intimate level.

Introducing Mik and the Band

Bass
This is Nate, and he always looks exactly like this.

Guitar
This is Sam giving us one of his signature pretty boy hair flips.

Guitar
This is Spencer getting Kronk (is what I would say if it was Kronk on Spencer's shirt instead of Pacha).

Backup Vocals
This is Nicole trying to block out the bullshit around her.

Drums
This is Alec who probably wouldn't like any joke I made right now.

Keys
Not sure what mystical being took this picture of Joe, since he's normally the one behind the camera, but it sure caught him off guard.
